Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between
M LINGNER & M PAZ ALVES (ABN 56 716 345 317) trading as
Rentroo (“Rentroo”, “we”, “our”, “us”) and the person or entity hiring a
vehicle (“Customer”, “you”). By making a booking, paying any amount, or taking
possession of a vehicle you accept these Terms.

1. Definitions

Vehicle – any car supplied by Rentroo under these Terms.
Rental Period – the period between collection and return times agreed with Rentroo.
Bond – the security deposit of AUD 500 (AUD 100 booking fee + AUD 400 refundable balance).
Excess – the maximum amount payable by you per insurance event (AUD 2 000, unless clause 9 applies).
Metro Area – any location within a 500 km radius of Perth CBD.

2. Eligibility & Driver Requirements

  • Minimum age 21 years; no maximum age.
  • Valid driver licence; if not in English a NAATI-certified translation or IDP is required.
  • No minimum tenure of licence.
  • Additional drivers permitted free of charge but must be declared and meet the same criteria.

3. Booking, Bond & Payment

  • Booking confirmed upon receipt of AUD 100 booking fee (part of the Bond).
  • Payment method: electronic bank transfer only.
  • Currency: Australian dollars (AUD), GST included unless otherwise stated.
  • Rental charges are due on vehicle return.
  • Bond balance refunded within 2 business days via bank transfer, less authorised deductions.
  • Early Return Fees per clause 11; any pre-paid days refunded within the same 2-day window.

4. Vehicle Categories & Usage Limits

  • Fleet includes Compact, SUV and 4×4 vehicles, model year 2007 +, minimum 5 seats.
  • Vehicle must not be driven outside 500 km of Perth without written consent.
  • Within the permitted area, kilometres are unlimited.

5. Collection & Return

  • Collection/return available 24 h / 7 d via secure window lockbox; instructions provided on confirmation.
  • Lockbox key must remain with you and be returned to the lockbox at end.
  • No grace period: late returns incur an additional full-day rate for each 24-hour increment or part.
  • Vehicle must be returned clean, undamaged, locked, with full fuel; inspection will follow.

6. Kilometres & Fuel

  • Unlimited km within Metro Area.
  • Incorrect fuel: you pay all associated costs (drain, repair, tow, loss of rental).
  • Fuel lower than full on return incurs AUD 150 refuelling fee + actual fuel cost.

7. Use of the Vehicle

Allowed: personal transport, commuting, rideshare and delivery apps (subject to platform rules).

Prohibited (non-exhaustive):

  • Off-road/beach driving or unsealed tracks
  • Racing, speed testing, driver training
  • Carrying illegal goods
  • Towing or pushing other vehicles
  • Driving with BAC ≥ 0.05 or under drugs
  • Unauthorised driver

No smoking or animals inside the vehicle. Personal items are your responsibility; we hold items for 7 days.

8. Maintenance, Breakdown & Roadside Assistance

  • Monitor oil, coolant and tyre pressure.
  • Incident/breakdown: stop safely and call +61 457 031 069 (24 h).
  • Misuse-related faults may incur call-out fees.
  • Rentroo arranges towing; costs ours unless misuse applies.

9. Insurance & Excess

  • Comprehensive cover: third-party injury, property damage, theft, fire.
  • Standard Excess: AUD 2 000 (AUD 2 800 for drivers 21–24; AUD 2 400 for 25–26).
  • Optional Excess-Reduction Package may be offered at booking.

Insurance exclusions (you pay all losses):

  • BAC ≥ 0.05 / drugs / refusal to test
  • Reckless/illegal use
  • Water or salt damage
  • Incorrect fuel
  • Unauthorised driver
  • Theft where keys not secured
  • No Rentroo notice within 24 h

10. Accidents, Damage & Theft

  • Notify police (000) if required and Rentroo within 24 h.
  • Provide photos and complete incident report; do not admit liability.
  • Authorise Rentroo to deduct up to Excess or full cost where exclusion applies.

11. Cancellations, Early Return & No-Show

  • Free cancellation ≥ 48 h before pick-up; booking fee refunded.
  • < 48 h: booking fee forfeited.
  • No-show: one day’s hire charged.
  • Early return: recalculated at days used; any pre-payment refunded within 2 business days.

13. Limitation of Liability

Except for non-excludable guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, Rentroo is
not liable for indirect, special or consequential loss, loss of profit,
or loss of opportunity arising from the rental. Our maximum aggregate
liability is limited to the total hire charges paid by you.

14. Intellectual Property & Website Use

All content on rentroo.com.au is owned by or
licensed to Rentroo. You must not copy, scrape, reproduce or distribute any
part of the site without written consent. Access is for personal,
non-commercial use only.

15. Privacy & Cookies

Personal data is handled per our
Privacy Policy and
Cookie Policy, which form part of
these Terms.

We collect your personal information including your name, contact details, driver’s licence, passport copy, and bank details solely for the purpose of processing car rental contracts. Your data is securely stored and is only shared with third parties when required by law or for operational purposes (e.g., insurance or identity verification). In accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. All data is processed in Australia and handled with appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure its security.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia. You submit to
the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Perth, WA.

17. Amendments

Rentroo may amend these Terms by posting an updated version on the website
and, for existing bookings, emailing the address on file. Changes apply to new
bookings immediately and to existing bookings 14 days after notice, unless
required sooner by law.
